New 2020 Spanish Michelin Stars

The delivery of new Michelin Stars 2020 for Spanish restaurants distributed throughout the national territory it has already been made official. At Lope de Vega Theater in Seville, the guide recognized the excellence and good cooking of up to 25 establishments with the highest award for Amós gazebo, riding a Cantabria. Thus, in yet another edition, the prestigious publication announced all the winners. In this article we tell you who the lucky chefs have been together with their local high kitchen.

Up to 25 new Michelin Stars 2020

All the three Michelin stars and the maximum recognition of the guide has gone to reward the work of Jesús Sánchez in his restaurant the Amós gazebo. She really is a lovely mansion-palace located in the small town of Villaverde de Pontones (Cantabria). The three different menus served in your paper (Essence, Memory and Experience) are a sensation of flavors with local products but also classics. Land, sea and orchard come together to offer diners a very unique gastronomic journey. At the appointment to grant these new Michelin Stars 2020 spoke Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, who highlighted the evolution of Spanish cuisine:

«We are witnessing a consolidation of haute cuisine (…) with high dynamism in regions such as Andalusia, Valencian Community o Canary Islands. Regarding trends, we have seen how hotels increasingly give greater strategic value to their gastronomic proposals. But also how many chefs are opting for creative fusion cuisine, incorporating exotic details and ingredients from the Peruvian, Mexican or Japanese cookbook into their menus »

Awarded with two stars

- Angle (Barcelona), where the Chef Alberto Dura follows the line marked by one of the great national chefs and more media: jordi cruz. What they offer in the Catalan restaurant is described as "haute cuisine for daily consumption" through two highly creative tasting menus.

- Young (Córdoba), where the flavors and aromas of the mythical Andalusian cuisine adopt a profound evolutionary revision of the hands of the Chef Paco Morales. The living room is minimalist but avant-garde at the same time.

- skin (Marbella). In the most luxurious place in Malaga, the young Chef Mark Granda continues to demonstrate its culinary talent through creative dishes with the best evolved Andalusian recipes.

- Bardal (Round). Another restaurant from Málaga offers the diner a gastronomic experience of recognizable flavors but enhanced with unimaginable contrasts. The Cook Benito Gomez It serves two exquisite tasting menus.

- the Poblet (Valencia) closes this quota of new Michelin Stars 2020 with a majestic combination of classic dishes from the great Quique Dacosta together with those prepared by the chef Luis Valls. Tradition and modernity come together in this Valencian restaurant.

Rest of restaurants, from north to south

Finally, the guide's experts have been captivated by other 19 haute cuisine establishments -spread throughout the peninsula, from north to south- that have been awarded with a star. And it is that the gastronomic offer of such a level increasingly crosses more borders to end up entering and, later, excelling in some less common regions. It is the case of the Region of Murcia, where the restaurant Magoga de Cartagena has been recognized for the particular proposal of the chef María Gómez. In each of its elaborations it elevates the city to the top, always using marine and rural products, without forgetting other regional ones.

From the southeast of Spain to the other end of the country, the new culinary temple Wave Martin Berasategui raises all that 'stick' of the Basque chef to the top, in gastronomic terms. The Tayko hotel in Bilbao welcomes this elegant restaurant also gifted with another of the new Michelin Stars 2020. Without leaving the north, The Library greener is in another hotel, the well-known Alma de Iruña (Pamplona). Within its walls, the young Chef Leandro Gil It uses wild herbs and vegetables for all of its cutting edge dishes.

Between Madrid and the islands

We continue the journey to Valladolid, where the restaurant Workshop from the Arzuaga hotel is also located within the wine cellar homonymous located in Quintanilla de Onesimo. For its part, the Spanish capital welcomes two new Michelin Stars 2020 in two locations: 99 KO Sushi Bar and Gofio, both in Madrid.

To the east of the peninsula, it is impossible that two of the communities with the greatest popularity and gastronomic mastery were not included in the list of stars. The restaurants aurt y Zinc Sentits de Barcelona join the Delirious from Salou, within Catalonia. For its part, Valencian cuisine is represented in Salita (Valencia) or in Tula (Xabia).
