Salchipapa: the queen of South America

What is salchipapa?

Although it can be eaten only in this way, it is usually accompanied by countless garnishes. The most common are mustard, mayonnaise and ketchup, but you can also add olives, coleslaw, eggs or ham.

As we have pointed out, the recipe is very easy to make, since in just twenty minutes it will be ready. The first thing to do is peel, wash and cut the potatoes. Fry in plenty of oil for around fifteen minutes. Add the sausages to that same pan and fry for another five. Plate everything on absorbent paper, season to your liking with salt and finally add the desired garnish.

A culinary treasure born in Peru

The origins of sausage They date back to Peru in the 50s. The streets of Lima witnessed scarcity and high levels of poverty.
