Prize for an artisan rum at Rum Congress

The Aldea Rum, handcrafted from La Palma, made in San Andrés y Sauces, thus obtained the highest recognition. In this appointment he met in Barcelona to an outstanding cast of professionals in the sector. Everything to share trends and innovations. Always around the exciting world of rum.

After four generations in the island of La Palma, Ron Aldea, very faithful to the tradition of the first rum masters, continues with the direct distillation. Of the cane juice and the same still than in the beginnings in 1936 (copper alembic, continuous distillation and wood oven). As the key to keeping intact the quality that this rum has maintained throughout the ages, the same successful process of yesteryear is followed. Because, sometimes, it is not necessary to innovate, in this sense.

Production process

El Rum Village It is the end result of a long process that goes from the field to the bottle. First, the cane plantations are harvested by cutting through the appropriate areas. Then, all of them are taken to the miller, where each cane is crushed through a mechanical system. This also manages to separate the inner liquid from the rest of the reed.

Subsequently, the fermentation of the rum is necessary until it is time to distill it directly. This is done in a traditional wood oven. It manages to extract the most precious and tasty part of the entire product. Finally, the maturation in barrels for the time that its producers consider necessary, they consider the process finished. Bottles of Rum Village they look to take placidly with friends.

For all this and its good reception from consumers, this ron has dressed in gold in the rum congress Barcelona.
