November 13 is a date marked in red for all lovers of wine and wine. wine tourism. It is celebrated on European Wine Tourism Day, which drives the European Network of Wine Cities. All with the aim of extolling the culture, heritage and wine traditions of the producing territories.
It is carried out through numerous activities and proposals open to the public. This is the case of the DO and the Ribera del Guadiana Wine Route, which will extend its celebrations between November 11 and December 2.
During the next weekend the bulk of the activities will take place, which represent the end of the campaign. The Colors of the Vintage has been developed during the months of September and October in the Ribera del Guadiana Wine Route.
It has had a great reception from the public. Among the proposals stood out the balloon trips, organized by the company Extremadura by Balloon. They propose a hot air balloon flight contemplating the spectacular views of the area. Getting carried away by the wind and ending with a champagne toast in style.
Wine tourism, humor and shows in Ribera del Guadiana
On November 11 it will be the turn of the activity 'Between laughs and wines'. An original paired dinner that includes gastronomy with four dishes harmonized with wines and cavas for the Ribera del Guadiana Wine Route.
It will accompany the humor of Mr. Wine Cotano and his monologues, along with a professional tasting by Cati bustillo, of the company Cataconcati. It will take place at 21.00:XNUMX p.m. at Ambroz Valley Inn and it has a price of 35 euros.
The activities will run until December 2, with the focus on the town of Plasencia (Caceres). There will take place a day promoted by wineries of the DO Ribera del Guadiana and various Extremadura cheese factories. As well as other gastronomic companies with the aim of enjoying and bringing the culture of the Ribera del Guadiana wine to all audiences.
The event will be held at the Food Market. It is located in the center of the city and was converted into a multipurpose building. You can taste wines and tapas at popular prices, with the possibility of buying the special edition cup and taking it home.
In addition, barrels will be decorated live by Extremadura artists with subsequent auction for the benefit of different NGOs. There will be commented tastings every half hour, live music by the group Street Dressing and a great collective toast. All this framed in the campaign 'Land, wine and friends' for the DO Ribera del Guadiana.
After the toast, new friends will be introduced to the campaign and new Friendly Zones. In them you can taste and buy wine from the appellation of origin.
