Bodegas Villacreces and its «golden» estate
We can attribute that adjective to the place where the Specimen wine because the Villacreces Wineries They are located in a unique environment. The area, within the Denomination of Origin of Ribera del Duero, is called Golden Mile. The truth is that taking a look at the surroundings of the farm and its own facilities from the outside, we can already see that it is a special place.
It has been hiding for centuries at a point where the Douro River, the centuries-old pine forests and, of course, the Vineyards. A beautiful green landscape together with a small garden surrounded by native vegetation give entrance to the wineries. This farm «golden» has 110 hectares in total, 64 hectares of them full of vines. From these other wines have already been born: Pruno, Nebro and Finca Villacreces. Specimen wine, the fruit of different vintages
Why is this wine bottle so unique? Well, because it has taken time to get it, in the first place, since the best grapes from three harvests. Specifically, of the vintages 2013, 2014 and 2015. From a select batch of this raw material from vines with more than 40 years, it later went on to an also curious aging. In this way, the process went through achieving the final result a fusion of these aged vintages in different containers.
