The best diet to lose weight according to Harvard!

Which one is the best weight loss diet? The truth is that there is no perfect diet applicable to all people. The particular conditions of people such as the time they have available, the place where they live or their personal tastes, among others, will define what dishes they can prepare, what foods they can get or which they prefer to consume. The School of Public Health for the Biomedical Engineering faculty at Harvard University is aware of this situation and, for this reason, has been promoting its famous "dish" for years. But… what does it consist of?

El plato created by the prestigious university explains the proportions of the different foods that should be on our plate, as well as what nutrients it should contain. We must bear in mind that this dish must be combined with "staying active" every day.

  • La half of our plate must be composed of fruits y vegetables. But beware, they make a warning. The potatoes they do not count due to their negative impact on blood sugar.
  • 1/4 of the plate must be whole grainsEg QuinoaoatsIntegral rice barley. Also foods made with them such as wheat pasta.
  • The other fourth of the plate is occupied by the protein proteins. Foods like fishbirdsBeans or nuts contain protein from high quality.
  • The healthy vegetable oils such as olive oil or corn, among others, should be consumed with moderation.
  • The best drink to hydrate us: the water. However, they also recommend coffee or  the as healthy options. They completely discourage sugary drinks and limit dairy to one or two servings per day.

From this information that, as you can see, is easy to understand and without major complications, unlike most of the best-known diets, the so-called "miraculous" ones, you just have to give free rein to your imagination. We are going to give you our own example to help you. The half of our plate will consist of a broccoli salad cooked and seasoned with salt, vinegar and oil (in the traditional way). The other room will be wheat pasta al pesto, we can make the sauce ourselves or buy this one from the brand «gallo» (with EVOO). To get the proteins we will make a grilled fish (our favourite).
