This robot waiter, developed by Bear Robotics, can carry up to 30 kilos of food and has a great autonomy of more than 12 hours. In addition, the dynamics are very simple: when the food is ready, Servi, which is the name of this machine, he goes to the kitchen where an employee hands him the ready meals and he takes it upon himself to bring it closer to the corresponding table. "The robot design is high enough to carry several dishes, but at the same time it has a size that allows it to circulate among people, chairs and tables "confirmed one of the heads of Bear robotics to the Efe Agency.

Main drawback

Although the design and shape of this robot waiter It is perfect to carry dishes, when it comes to transporting drink has complications. This is because these containers do not have the flat and flat surface of the dishes, so they require a very smooth ride to ensure not a drop of liquid falls off. Although the company has assured that they are working to develop a special tray that allows to transport drinks of all kinds, even glasses filled to the top.

Robot waiters in Spain

The Chinese restaurant group Shangri-La has obtained the first license to bring the first waiter robot to Spain. Peanut, which is what this machine is called, already works in three shopping centers in Madrid. And, as is obvious, the function of this invention developed by the Chinese company Keenon Robotics, is to bring the food from the kitchen to the table and then pick up dirty dishes. In this way, customers appreciate the speed of service while human waiters can work in customer service duties.

The result of the work of this robot waiter is so far very satisfying. And it is that Peanut is guided by some sensors located on the ceiling that mark your route and indicate your stopping and recharging area. And in this case, it has a battery of about 100 hours standby and 8 hours in operation. It is even capable of detecting when it is about to turn off.
