No more coffee capsules with K-Rounds

The search for improved sustainability has led one of the capsule and coffee machine manufacturers of the well-known brand Nespresso to create K-Rounds. In this way the manufacturer Keurig proposes to change to this new system and be more respectful of the environment. It is true that for a few years the coffee world had been looking for alternatives to classic aluminum capsules with biodegradable capsule systems or even filling ones. Campaigns also emerged to encourage the recycling of aluminum capsules even for social purposes, but now it seems that the path is different. This proposed solution would put an end to the difficult recycling of capsules made mostly of aluminum and plastic.

K-Rounds the anti capsule capsule

It seems like a paradox but the capsule or tablet that is K-Rounds will fight directly with the capsules. And it seems that within the capsule market it will leave room for growth. All because sustainability and comfort are two values that are growing and K-Rounds meets these two values that become benefits.

The new alternative called K-Rounds is a coffee tablet coated with a thin layer of cellulose and alginate, both biodegradable. In this way, once used, the remains can be deposited in organic waste or used for compost.

The invention, which is already in the final phase of production, is expected to arrive in 2025 and arises from the idea of compacting the coffee made in bars. Keurig plans to launch K-Rounds in 4 options ranging from the shortest coffee to the longest coffee. Of course, the new coffee machine will have to be purchased for the new compressed capsules. From here on, the only thing left to do is for the offer of varieties, toasts, etc. to reach the consumer to seduce them even more.
