Jamonturismo has increased its demand by 20% in recent years

According to the National Association of Iberian Pig Industries (Anice), Jamonturismo has increased by 20% in the last three years. Iberian ham is considered a gourmet product valued throughout the world thanks to its flavor and quality. The interest of tourists in learning about the production process of Iberian ham, a typical product of Spanish gastronomy, has been increasing. Tourists want to know the whole process, from the breeding of free range pigs in pastures, to the curing of the ham in natural cellars. According to Anice, Jamonturismo has become a new source of income for the meat sector, since it offers immersive and personalized experiences, to the taste of tourists.

Since 2005, Julián Martín has stood out as the main promoter of Jamonturismo, attracting a large number of tourists every year interested in discovering the details of the production of Iberian ham. Despite two years of closure due to the pandemic, Julián Martín closed 2022 with more than three thousand visitors, which demonstrates the consolidation and growing interest in Jamontourism in our country.
