The Regulatory Council of the Rioja Qualified Denomination of Origin has selected the eight institutional wines that will represent it throughout the next year 2021. For the first time, the new figure of sparkling wine is added to the list of categories. These Rioja wines they are the ones that the CR uses in its events in the different institutional events in which it is present. We quote you which are the chosen bottles.
Conclusion 163 wines from 53 wineries of the Denomination of Origin have participated in the blind tasting carried out to select those institutional references of the Regulatory Council. This year, the tasting panel has been formed by a mixed committee of the Regulatory Council and professionals from the sector. It has also had the president of the Association of Sommeliers of Navarra, Mikel Ceberio, and with the vice president of the Sommeliers Association of The Rioja, Marta Saenz.
The eight wines chosen represent the diversity of the wine panorama of the Rioja Qualified Denomination of Origin (DOCa). They are presented with Council labels expressly designed for each of the categories. For two years, the institutional reflects the name of the selected winery and both the CR and the operator may promocionar such a distinction.
