El Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment has granted the Food Awards of Spain Best Cheeses some posters 2017. These have been the finalists in each category.

Best Cheeses 2017

Modality «Ripened cow's cheese»

Prize: Queixería Don Crisanto, from Villalba (Lugo). For the «Don Crisanto» cheese, San Simón da Costa protected designation of origin.

Modality "Ripened sheep's cheese"

Prize: Ricardo Remiro Cheese Factory, from Eulate (Navarra). For him cheese "Remiro", protected designation of origin Idiazábal.

Modality «Ripened goat cheese»

Award: Quesería Lopicomo, SL, from Villamartín (Cádiz), for the «Pajarete» cheese.

"Mixed matured cheese" mode

Prize: Quesos El Bosqueño, SL, from El Bosque (Cádiz). For the cheese «El Bosqueño.

Modality "Mold-matured cheese or blue cheese"

Award: Queserías Picos de Europa, SL, from Posada de Valdeón (León). For the blue cheese "Picos de Europa", protected geographical indication Valdeón.

Special Award "Food from Spain to the Best Cheese"

Modality "Ripened sheep's cheese"

Finalist 1: Manuel Bengoetxea Cheese Factory, from Urdax (Navarra), for the "Bengoetxea" cheese, Idiazábal protected designation of origin.

Finalist 2: José Inazio Ugartemendia Cheese Factory, from Berastegui (Gipuzkoa), for the cheese «Gazpio», Idiazábal protected designation of origin.

Finalist 1: La Pastora de Grazalema Cheese Factory, Andalusian Cooperative Society, of Grazalema (Cádiz), for the "La Pastora de Grazalema" cheese.

Finalist 2: Quesería Payoyo, SL, from Villaluenga del Rosario (Cádiz), for the «Payoyo» cheese.

Finalist 1: Grupo Ganaderos de Fuerteventura, SL, from Puerto del Rosario (Las Palmas), for the "Selectum Semicurado con Paprika" cheese.

Finalist 2: Queserías Entrepinares, SAU, from Valladolid, for the cheese «Entrepinares Viejo Tostado».

Modality "Mold-matured cheese or blue cheese"

Finalist 1: Lácteas Cobreros, SA, from Castrogonzalo (Zamora), for the "Cobreros Goat Cheese Roll" cheese.

Finalist 2: Quesopía, SL, from Torremocha de Jarama (Madrid), for the cheese «Button de Queso».
