In order to achieve this, Ferrero has distributed more than three million multipurpose trees for planting on farms, as well as 775.000 native trees. throughout the Ivory Coast for reforestation for four years. Ferrero thus strengthens his commitment to the environment, guaranteeing environmental improvements and an improvement in cocoa production as well as forest restoration.

The Cocoa and Forests Initiative

This new initiative (IFC) born from a collaboration between 36 leading cocoa and chocolate companies and the governments of Ivory Coast and Ghana. Ferrero, as a founding member, has taken steps to champion sustainability and support the environment in your entire cocoa supply chain. As the end of its four-year plan nears, the company has launched CFI 2.0, a project that will build on the successes and lessons learned from the initial phase of the program. One of the top priorities for Ferrero is collaboration with partners. Ensuring that the gains collectively made to date are expanded and sustained depends on it.

Regarding the IFC Action Plan 2018-2022, Ferrero has managed to reach significant milestonesthrough three central pillars: forest protection and restoration commitments; sustainable production and livelihoods of farmers; and community participation and social inclusion. Along the same lines, the CFI 2.0 promises further develop and strengthen national traceability systems, collaborating with national governments and with the confectionery industry in general.
