Two French restaurants lose their Michelin stars.

The Michelin gastronomic guide has withdrawn their Michelin stars from two French restaurants. An informative bomb for the country of the red bible of gastronomy. One of the affected restaurants has been, Guy Savoy, located in the palace of La Monnaie, the National House of the Mint and Stamp of France. The French restaurant that has held this distinction since 2002 will only have two stars in the next edition of Michelin France.

“Until now, I had only known the best moments of my career. We lost the match this year but we will win it again next year”, Savoy told AFP, after learning of the loss of his third Michelin star.

The other restaurant that has lost this star is La Rochelle, by Christopher Coutanceau, which had this award since 2020.

Gwendal Poullennec, director of Michelin, told Agence France-Press that "these are two exceptional restaurants and that is why this measure is the result of mature reflection."

It is withdrawn from stars, it has generated controversy. For some, Michelin wants to generate controversy by reminding that the third star is not for life and that it must be maintained and defended every day. Also, there are those who point out the coincidence that the recently dethroned Guy Savoy has repeatedly crowned La Liste, a ranking that is established based on an algorithm with data from guides from all over the world. On the other hand, opinions have emerged, pointing to the search for new leaders and replacements for the new edition of Michelin in France.
