"Very good" is the rating of the vintage 2016, awarded after the analysis of the report carried out for the Regulatory Council of the DO Navarra. Specifically, by the Viticulture and Oenology Section of the Department of Rural Development of the Government of Navarra.

A technical report that describes aspects that refer to the state of the vineyard, the grapes and the wines made.

DO Navarra achieves a very good score

The main characteristics of the past campaign refer to the entry of a warm autumn. With little rainfall that was a little more abundant in winter.

Thus, the water needs of the vineyard at the beginning of sprouting were generally satisfactory. Early grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc they began to sprout at the end of March. The months of April and May were cold and led to a delay in the vine cycle.

Flowering was more than ten days late compared to the previous year. A delay that was confirmed in summer due to the lack of rainfall.

La vintage, later than in previous campaigns, it began in the last days of August, in the area of Low Bank. Starring the Chardonnay and Petite Grain Muscat as usual. The good weather helped, with hot temperatures throughout the region and the absence of rainfall.

It allowed a selective collection, by places, with a slow and continuous rhythm. Among the most determining characteristics, the good health of the harvest. An average graduation of the musts that showed a balanced total acidity.

La harvest 2016, according to the data provided by EVEN, has distinguished itself in the red wines for having a good alcohol content. Slightly lower than the previous one, a lower total acidity, a higher than average color intensity and a very good structure.

As for white and pink wines, the degree is also optimal. They stand out for having a very good aromatic profile and good color parameters.
