The non-profit association 'I saw for Life'will organize a new solidarity tasting next Sunday, February 25. It will be in the Llobet i Gurí Factory (Calella) from 18:00 p.m. and for 300 people.
This is a new edition of the project aimed at raising awareness and raising funds. The proceeds will go to cancer research and cancer metastasis. Institute for Biomedical Research (IRB Barcelona).
The story of Vi per Vida
'Vi per Vida' was born four years ago by the impulse of Xavier Ayala with the purpose of raising awareness about metastasis. This is the extent of a primary tumor in distant organs. It causes 90% of cancer deaths.
Through three large annual tastings, this organization demonstrates its commitment to this fight. In this way, it wants to contribute with the benefits of these actions to the research carried out in the laboratories of Catalonia.
The one of Calella It is the tenth tasting that he organizes I saw for Life. The fourth that takes place in this town after the successful participation of the previous editions. Since the first tasting in 2014, the project has been gaining collaborators and support.
This has increased its social impact. Since wineries all Catalunya, local and regional institutions such as the INCAVI until L'Institut Català de la Vinya i el Vi de la Generalitat de Catalunya, among many others, have already taken sides.
The wine tasting will be guided by the sommelier Xavier Ayala. This will deliver to the IRB Barcelona of the fundraising that took place in the 2017 edition. This year, for only 10 euros, participants will be able to taste 5 different wines Denominations of Origin of Catalonia. They are the Alella, Costers del Segre, Catalunya and Emporda.
