Danone's Yopro: expensive posture

Is it worth taking Yopro by Danone? The Sports supplement is becoming more and more the order of the day. The most methodical conceive it as something inseparable from their training. Danone knows this, but… Can it give these people what they are looking for? Do you sell these products for marketing and image reasons? Let's see it.

yopro and supplements

The rise of fitness, in addition to the healthy lifestyle, has been a paradigm shift. As a result of this, brands start to worry about both the appearance and the quality of their products. Whether they are big or small, their goal is to sell a healthy product. The trend can be clearly confirmed with foods designed for people who practice sport on regular basis. A clear example is that of Yopro, from Danone.

It is a range of Smoothies y protein yogurts. From time to time the French multinational updates its catalogue. However, today we have strawberry liquid yogurt, cookies with vanilla and coconut. We also have protein yogurts, like the one in our previous article, with a natural flavor, vanilla, blueberry and banana with peanut butter. to finish, yopro top off the list with protein-added milk bricks in two flavors: chocolate and vanilla.

Are they good for anything?

The truth is yes. When you exercise you break the fiber of your muscles and therefore you have Shoelaces. your body will use proteins to repair them, which will increase their size. So, a shot of 25 grams of protein after training is not bad at all. This is the amount contained in both liquid yoghurts and fortified milk. This is a figure very similar to that of the protein powder shakes that so many people drink on the way out of the gym. The yogurts in tariff, on the other hand, only carry 15 grams per unit.

So what is the problem? well the price. To give you an idea, a yopro shake that you consume after your workout costs 1'89 euros in Alcampo. If you train four times a week you can count on expenses close to 30 euros per month in supplementation. Instead, if you buy five kilos of a cheap but quality brand like Myprotein, things are different.

If you buy five kilos of protein powder for more or less one hundred euros (taking advantage of the constant sales) you will spend only 0 euros per training! The calculation that we have made has been to divide these five kilos into scoops of 30 grams, which gives 166 doses. These will last more or less ten months at the rate of four training sessions a week. So, with Yopro from the supermarket you spend approximately $300 in ten months while with the protein powder 100. The difference is abysmal!
