La Tastavins Academy and the DO Penedes has awarded the 35 best wines of 2017 of the appellation of origin. 120 different wine samples have been presented.

It was after the blind tasting of a group of expert sommeliers, led by the Catalan Sommelier Association. The winery Albert i Noya has been one of the big winners of the contest Tastavins.

They have won 6 medals: 2 golds (Albet i Noya col·lecció i Reserva Martí), one silver (La Milana), 2 bronzes (Albet i Noya Curiós and Brut 21 barrel) and a diploma of excellence (El Blanc XXV).

Blanc Subur and Macabeu de Mas Rodó, among the best whites

In the case of whites, Subur, from Celler de l'Hospital / La Xarmada, has won the gold for the best young white wine. It was followed by the Freyé Xarel·lo Chardonnay by Domènech Vidal and the bronze from the Vinya d'en Lluc, by Jaume Llopart Alemany.

The Vinya Anais Xarel·lo, d'1 + 1 fan 3, and the Xitxarel·lo, by Martí Sardà have also received a diploma. Regarding white aging wines, Macabeu from Mas Rodó has won the silver medal and Manuela de Naveran, from Sadeve, the bronze.

The category has been won by Albet i Noya Col·lecció. L'Avi Ton 2015 by Eudald Massana Noya has received a diploma of excellence, like the Blanc XXV d'Albet i Noya.

Castell d'Or and Reserva Martí, the best red wines

El 52 Tastavins Contest of Wines of Calitat DO Penedès The best young red wine has been awarded gold by the Pupitre Negre, from Castell d'Or, followed by: Pere Punyetes Negre 2017 from Berral i Miró, who has received the silver medal, and the bronze from Albet i Noya Curiós.

The Terra Terrae de Covides and the Jeronimus de Torre del Veguer have received diplomas of excellence for young red wine. In the case of crianza reds, the Reserva Martí d'Albet i Noya has won the gold medal.

La Milana, also by Albet i Noya, the silver one. The Grand Princes, from Canals Munné, has received the bronze medal. The Gorg del glaç, by Cellers Domenys, and the Bru de Tardor, by Rovellats, have received a diploma of excellence.

El Clot dels Oms, best rosé in Tastavins

The Clot dels Oms, from Ca n'Estella, has received the gold medal for the best Tastavins rosé wine. The jury has also awarded the silver medal to the winner Petjades, from Torelló Llopart.

The bronze one to Rosat Jaume Llopart Alemany, by Llopart Güell. The Diorama Pinot Noir, from Pinord, and the Duc de Foix from Covides, have received diplomas of excellence.

The Aymar Brut Reserva, the best Clàssic Penedès and the Gran Blanc Prínceps, the best Xarello

As for sparkling wines, the Aymar Brut Reserva 2014, from Castell de Pujades, has received the gold for the best Clàssic Penedès. Followed by the Grana, Mas Bertran, which has received the silver medal, and the Brut 21 barrica d'Albet i Noya, which has the bronze.

El argila 2012 and l'Esparter AT Roca, from Mas Bertran and d'Agustí Torelló Roca respectively, have received a diploma of excellence. And among the best xarellos DO Penedès, the Gran Blanc Prínceps, from Canals Munné, has won the gold medal.

The Xarel·lo Jaume Llopart Alemany, by Llopart Güell, the silver medal, and the Cultivare Xarel·lo by Domènech.Vidal, the bronze medal. The Xarel·lo 2015 of Ca n'Estella and the Cantallops d'Agustí Torelló Roca, have also received diplomas of excellence.
