The Rioja Alavesa Wine Route offers endless wine tourism plans throughout the year. Each visitor can perceive that there are a thousand ways to experience this territory, to taste its wine-growing and gastronomic culture. Also to soak up its heritage and interact with its people and its natural environment. Now, with the arrival of the harvest, the wineries are in full swing. It is quite a show for the most curious that entails an atmosphere of palpable celebration in this region.
La Rioja Alavesa Wine Route
A benchmark in the sector after more than ten years of activity, Rioja Alavesa launches the most interesting plans for these dates. Thus managing to surprise its visitors again with some very original proposals. Harvest time is a magical time, as it enhances the beauty of the landscape. In addition, it shows the public the work involved in making wine.
Among the activities to be highlighted, the visitor can choose to dive into the grape harvest by participating in the grape harvest. Also in the tread of Palacio Wineries (Laguardia), to even taste the first must. An experience that is complemented by the tasting of several of its wines and the gift of a 'vintage kit'. This is made up of a hat and apron from the wineries.
Campillo and Faustino wineries
It suggests different experiences. On October 12, 13, 20 and 27, at 10.30 am, they offer the Harvest Experience. Tour the vineyard to learn all about vine growing. Izadi and Baigorri wineries

Other activities of different wineries
Amador García winery It opens with the Grape Harvest Workshop from September 22 to October 10. Participants will discover the grape harvest first hand, starting in the vineyard and learning how to harvest. There will also be a visit to the winery. In it, the process of making their wines will be explained to end with a tasting of two of them.
Valdemar Winery offers an accessible harvest, on the occasion of the International Day of the White Cane, on October 15. Through the senses of smell, touch and taste, they will go through the entire winemaking process such as that of Rioja Alavesa. It will begin with the collection of the grapes, continuing with the treading and its press. Next, the visitor will be able to enjoy a tasting paired with three wines with three appetizers. But before the tasting, the smell will be put to the test with a set of aromas.
Ostatu Wineries organizes very special and unique tastings with a capacity limited to 12 people. The activity, aimed at whites in barrels, will take place on Saturday, September 22. You will be able to know the next novelty of whites. The Horizontal Vintage 2010 activity will be on October 13. In it, it will be shown how some of its wines behave over the years.
