Under the motto 'Be happy, not perfect', the DO Rueda celebrates the International Women's Day. He does it with a limited edition of a bottle of Verdejo Wheel. This one, dedicated to all women and as a show of support for them in their particular tasks related to Spanish wine.
Because more and more women have decided to start and set up their own wine business. Or, failing that, they are very present in organizations or families of prestigious wineries.
Be that as it may, in recent years, the presence of women in the wine sector has experienced a strong increase. Women have also been taking over the positions of maximum relevance.
Great initiative of the DO Rueda
Every time we find more winemakers, winery managers, technicians, owners and entrepreneurs who have set up their own winery from scratch.
Carmen San Martin, President of the DO Rueda, considers that “this action is intended to give an affectionate wink. For all those women who work to get their work done, whatever it may be ”. In addition, she affirms that “the reality is that the presence of women is very broad. It is even the majority in technical, export or communication positions ”.
«This figure is also numerous in the executive and management positions of many of our wineries. Perhaps it could be because the DO Rueda it is a young and dynamic denomination ”.
In that sense, and interpreting his words, the entry of women into the different departments that make up a winery or a Denomination of Origin is becoming more and more real. That is because times are changing and now there are also many 'brave' who want to immerse themselves in the exciting world of wine.
