The origins of a business

It was the year 1873 when three friends decided to set up a beer distillery business in the German city of Bremen. This brewing company was born with the purpose of focusing on the world of export. In order to be recognized, becks beer took the emblem of Bremen as a logo. There were soon problems with the local authorities, which led the company to register the image of the iconic key in his name.

At first, all the small bottles were brown, but they soon decided to find a glass manufacturer that design them something exclusive. This is how the green bottles were born, which over the years have represented this beer. Their rich combination of barley malt, hops, water and yeast, led it to collect, a year after its foundation and at the hands of Kaiser Frederick III, the Gold Medal of the International Agricultural Show in Germany.

The consolidation of Becks beer

The prize awarded by the Kaiser was the key for the company to decide to look further. In 1888, becks beer introduced the first ice machine in its factory. This made your product independently cooled of the Scandinavian ice supply used by other distilleries. And already in 1928 the company acquired his first barrel of steel, allowing the supply of its second variety of beer: Becks Pils.

As we have already said, born as an export beer, it quickly began to popularize in the rest of the world. In the 30s, this brand began to be manufactured in Singapore, mainly to supply the high demand in Asia. And it is a decade later when it was distributed and sold for the first time in its country of origin, Germany, in order to protect itself from international market risks.

Always on the vanguard

Thanks to the international approach that was acquiring more and more, the becks beer had access to different trends and innovations that were taking place globally. This company was the first to create and introduce the can in the beer market. And later, to sell these cans in packs of six. Undoubtedly a more comfortable and safe way to taste the product.

Years later, and thanks to the constant evolution of science and technology, he introduced a revolutionary packaging on the German market: the transparent glass bottle covered with a filter to protect against ultraviolet solar rays. Undoubtedly, an invention that caused a stir and helped to better preserve of barley juice in a glass container.

A recognizable brand

The introduction of new advances in its manufacture and its extensive variety have not made it lose its sober and traditional image. Over the years, its image and brand have hardly changed. Apart from its characteristic key, its label has not changed one iota. This sticker combines its logo, its name and the two most important medals achieved by the company. All this in red, black and white colors.

Another of the curious innovations is related to its label. becks beer has introduced its first bottle on the market with the label printed on the glass, in order to eliminate excessive use of paper. Although it is a test, whose edition will be of two hundred thousand units, the company has in mind to gradually introduce this technique in all its wide variety of products.

Leaving aside its common beer, this company has a high range of products, from malted beer to Grand Lemon, passing through Amber Lage and Lemon Zero without alcohol.
