Under the hastag #Convinamiento, online wine tastings

With all sectors 'infected' by the coronavirus and the health crisis that it has caused in Spain, companies linked to the wine world have also had to adapt. Thus, from the PDO Jumilla have seen how the cancellations or the postponements of events already organized for this month of March. The state of alarm has also moved its workers to remain locked in their homes, adding to the teleworking. At least, in the jobs and functions that allow it. In addition, from the headquarters of the Regulatory Council The provision of minimum services for both wineries and winemakers has been reorganized. Because the goal is that all this crisis affect the activity of the sector as little as possible.

An optional and punctual modality

The proposal that has started from Jumillan lands is in line with a modality -the non-face-to-face- that is observed in a specific way in the wine sector. And it is more than evident that the client or the lover of wine tourism prefers the live and in-person assistance to the place of the event. To be able to go to a Denomination of Origin or to the facilities of a wine cellar concrete is a much more enriching experience. At a distance, via telematics, the sensations are not the same, since everything is colder.

On the other hand, in those natural environments full of hectares of vineyards, where you can see up close how the work of the viticulturist is, it is very different. That padding of the bottles inside the cellar, that gastronomic accompaniment, that company of both specialists and other lovers of good drinking ... It is clear that this tasting is lived with all the senses, while the modality of online wine tasting it is relegated to the optional or, in this case in which we are now, circumstantial. There is no alternative but to stay home. But who says that it is not possible to enjoy wine knowledge?
