Raimat

At night and with its characteristic manual harvesting, the centenary winery kicks off the harvest campaign throughout Europe.

The Raimat winery (Costers del Segre - Lleida) stars, once again, in the long-awaited start of the harvest season in Europe. At night and with its characteristic manual collection. The 2018 campaign is once again organic with the collection of 100% organic grapes. The harvested varieties, base of its wines are: xarel lo and garnatxa, among others.

Raimat, a clearly organic winery

All this, this milestone consolidates the centennial vineyard as one of the main Spanish wineries. The winery has one of the largest certified organic areas in the world. Up to 300 hectares of vineyards. A commitment that they make through a great investment and the work of their entire team.

Therefore at night, by hand and only one side of the strain. Only in this very characteristic way, the Raimat viticulture team selects the grape, strain by strain. All in order to obtain differential expressions at the level of tastes and aromas. A thorough manual selection. It seeks to ensure balanced wines. Intense and unique in essence. In this way, thanks to the low temperatures of night harvesting. It favors to preserve the aromas. Thus, unwanted fermentations are avoided.

Thanks to this meticulous harvesting technique. In this way, together with the balanced climatic conditions that have occurred this year in the area. An excellent quality harvest is expected. One more year will translate into superior quality wines.

For this reason and in the words of Xavier Farré, director of viticulture at Raimat. “2018 conditions have been extraordinary: a cool and rainy spring and now a hot and dry summer. Thus, this translates into a slight delay in ripening, excellent health, fresher wines, more fruity and intense aromas. For red grapes we will have to wait a little longer. In this way, see how they evolve until their harvest in September-October ”.
