Mussel from Galicia and Cava come together

The PDO Mejillón de Galicia and the PDO Cava join forces to promote themselves together. They will do so until 2025 with a campaign co-financed by the European Union and the sector with the aim of reaching more public lovers of these two quality seals such as Cava and Mussel from Galicia.

The agreement was signed at Casa América in Madrid by the two presidents of the appellations of origin. As presented, the dissemination actions will include commercial promotions, television campaigns, social networks and a joint website.

The union of these two great products, which undoubtedly have many synergies and which promise a good pairing, will require an investment by the European Union of almost 4 million euros. All this is the result of the presentation of 150 projects from different countries where only 55 received a subsidy. PDO Cava y Galician Mussel PDO, obtained the largest grant of the year 2023 / 2025, an unprecedented recognition and a firm commitment to both products. It is also the first time that a fishery product has joined a campaign of this type.

The opportunity to create great synergies between Mussel from Galicia and Cava

In a very competitive national and community market, union and synergies in the promotion of complementary products is a great strategy. The president of the PDO Mejillón de Galicia, Mr. Mané Calvo, also wanted to highlight "a very ambitious plan that we will have for the next three years, with these two products that are two treasures of our land."

For his part, the President of the DOP Cava highlighted "we are very happy to receive this funding, which will reinforce our image and the great work of making Spanish sparkling wines with Denomination of Origin".

Now the time has come for the two denominations of origin to take advantage of the opportunity to publicize the product and its gastronomic excellence. Also to communicate all the efforts of two large sectors to reach more and better consumers.
