Listeria in Sabores de Paterna: new notice

New chapter in the biggest meat contamination crisis ever experienced in Spain. After the listeriosis outbreak that was discovered this past August in shredded meat products from the Sevillian company magrudis, now they have also found listeria in Sabores de Paterna. This Cadiz firm has been permanently closed after the announcement of the Junta de Andalucía this Friday, September 6. They reported that evidence of contamination of company meat was found in a factory.

Timeline of the new alert and discovery

Yesterday morning, around one in the afternoon, the Health counseling for the Junta de Andalucía decreed a second food alert for shredded meat. Total, 298 kilos of shredded meat were packaged for marketing.

But this would not have been discovered new alert for listeria in Sabores de Paterna if not for a 14 year old child that was attended in Mostoles (Madrid). On August 19, he acknowledged that he had eaten beef jerky of this Cadiz brand. It had been in the town of Conil de la Frontera (Cadiz).
