The healthiest Spain in the world

We started the year well, although we are already finishing the second month of 2019. According to the latest list of Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index, the healthiest Spain in the world is a reality. At least, so affirms the score that our country has received with a 92,8 out of 100 points. Of course, we should not get carried away by such a positive phrase. But look at the factors that this index values.

Because at the time of elaborating that ranking, its authors take into account the current life expectancy or good access to clean water and sanitation. That, as favorable points, unlike the negative ones: tobacco use and obesity. Two problems against which the authorities have long been fighting through measures of various kinds.

Why is this the healthiest Spain in the world?

Our country has hit the mark until leadership, since just two years ago it was located in the sixth place of the list. The Healthiest Spain in the world has unseated Italy of the first position that I kept from the past ranking. After the Spanish are Iceland, Japan and Switzerland among the countries that best contribute to the health of citizens. Therefore, at this point is the clef of everything.

Neither in Spain we eat healthier than in many other countries nor do we, unfortunately, enjoy a low obesity rate. On the contrary, this health problem has doubled and even Spanish children are among the most obese in Europe.

Thus, despite that, our country has not been penalized as badly as others. The Health Risk Penalties Spanish has stayed in 3,81 points, while a significant majority of the rest of the classifieds has exceeded four points. In total they have been included 169 world economies.

The main factor that has benefited Spain has been the life expectancy located in 86 years (the highest), according to data from the University of Washington. He too public health system and eating habits have been studied to raise our country to such a privileged position in 2019.

However, the fight to eat healthier it continues in many areas of society and the sectors involved. For example, a few days ago we published information related to it. It was the development of a study to reduce sugar in cookies.
