Today, Friday, June 16, World Tapas Day 2023 will be celebrated, as announced by the Taste Spain Association, the brand of Spanish gastronomic tourism. The objective of this event is to promote the value of the Spanish tapa, something unique in Spanish gastronomy and society.
Taste Spain is made up of twenty-six national tourist destinations. Over the years, this event has grown in terms of participation and dissemination, even so, the organization believes that much remains to be done to continue promoting the tapa and its importance in Spanish culture.
Until last year, World Tapas Day was celebrated on the third Thursday of June. However, the Saborea España Association has announced that World Tapas Day 2023 will take place on Friday, June 16. Although the official date has changed, the events and activities extend throughout all of June. From the association, they invite all hoteliers to participate in this event. Each hotelier is free to celebrate this day as he wishes, the most common activities are usually; Put a tapa with a drink at a special price, organize a tapas contest, create a tapas tasting menu, give a miniature cooking workshop, pair tapas with a particular drink, etc.
