González Byass and Finite Wines

Gonzalez Byass

Gonzalez Byass presents Fino de Añada 2010 and Fino de Añada 2011, the new "Finite Wines" of the Tío Pepe's house. They come from two boots that have remained in static aging for 8 and 7 years, respectively.

The climate, the albariza land and the Fine Palomino, three key elements in the future of these unique wines. The essence of two oenological jewels bottled at the optimum moment, when their style and expression of Fino are at their best.

Good two years and elaboration

The harvest and the weather of 2010, a cool year with very generous rains. That of 2011, with specific periods of predominance of easterly winds. Mild temperatures and a rain regime somewhat higher than the historical average have determined, in part, the personality of the former Fino de Añada by González Byass.

They are made from Palomino Fino grapes from Pagos Carrascal and Macharnudo. These wines, impossible to replicate in the future due to their scarcity, have aged for 8 and 7 years in the La Constancia winery. All this under the care and care of Antonio Flores, winemaker of Gonzalez Byass.

The result, two unrepeatable wonders of Jerez, which share a resounding and vigorous character. But they also reflect the particularities of the harvest and the climate of each year.

González Byass's 'Finitos'

Fine Vintage 2011, "Bottled albariza", is intense and golden in color with olive green reflections. Sensations of talc and chalk round out its spectacular, dry, salty and slightly creamy palate.

For its part, Fine Vintage 2010, "Sublimated flower", stands out for a pale gold color, elegant and sharp. In this Fino, expression of the second "terroir" del Jerez, the winery. Pungent aromas emerge that surround the nuts of the Fine palomino. They explode in the mouth leaving a lofty, salty and savory finish.

The Vintage Fines, presented for the first time at the VI Sherrymaster by Tio Pepe by Josep Roca, sommelier at El Celler de Can Roca, are a new example of the winery's commitment to recovering and bringing Jerez's oenological legacy back to the present day, a work in which the work of the research center is decisive CIDIMA.

It is another example of innovation looking to the past and one more step in the expansion of the #SherryRevolution. The global movement created by Gonzalez Byass has led Jerez to live a new golden age worldwide.
