With the arrival of the harvest, eleven Cava wineries have come together under the coordination of the Cava Institute to create a very unique program of wine tourism activities. Throughout the month of September, this sparkling wine will celebrate the arrival of the harvest with a wide range of playful experiences created especially for the occasion.
Located in the Penedés, the eleven wineries registered in La Verema del Cava have developed wine tourism proposals that include horse-drawn carriage rides through the vineyards, bicycle routes, dinners under the moon, grape treads as was done in the past or peasant breakfasts in the middle of nature, among many other proposals. The activities are designed for all ages and are aimed at both family audiences and groups of friends.
To complete the experiences, several restaurants in the Penedés have created a special menu to pair great cavas with the local gastronomy. In addition, people who so wish can stay in unique rural houses in the area. To check the activities and buy tickets: www.laveremadelcava.com

Activities: "Harvesting under the summer moon or in full sun"
On August 31, we will go to the vineyard at night to observe how they pick grapes and to be able to taste the varieties that we have planted.
Then we will visit the winery where you can taste the new must and also tread grapes as was done in the past. And to end the night, what better way than to finish with cava on our chill-out terrace. On September 8 we will do the same but during the day.

Activity: «Ecology, long aging and a lot of passion»
You will learn the secrets of the historical varieties of Cava grown at Finca Can Martí while discovering emblematic corners. We will visit a dry stone barrack from the XNUMXth century. We will find diverse vegetation and we will harvest. To regain strength, we will have breakfast together with Cava, we will do a grape and must tasting and we will finish with an aperitif with Cavas Reserva and Gran Reserva.

Activity: «Llopart transports you to the vintage of 1887»
Come and see what vintage was like in the XNUMXth century. With a straw hat and a horse cart we will walk through the mountain vineyards. We will discover organic farming, we will show you the centenary dry stone barracks, you will harvest the old-fashioned way, you will press your grapes and you will make your own must. And of course, we will enjoy a peasant breakfast with the unbeatable views of the mountains of Montserrat.

On the occasion of the Cava Harvest, we will take an electric bike tour of the Juvé & Camps properties to see first-hand the different processes that guarantee the highest quality of cavas and wines. Go ahead and visit the origins of Cava and the history of Codorníu.
