Cooking Films, the perfect mix
Cooking Films arrives in Menorca east 2 June to combine the passions of many of us: cinema and good food. The event seeks to mix the local production with various menus prepared by renowned chefs from the island itself.
The entire festival will be organized in two sections. The first, named after the event itself, will consist of a exclusive menu of lunch or dinner that will be served while a film is projected. In this way, the film sessions will have an extra flavor, and access will cover more hours than if it were just a lunch or dinner.
The second section will be called cooking pro, which will consist of a series of live cooking activities and workshops. This section will also include experiences focused on local product and a series of gastronomic tastings that will surely captivate the attendees. There will also be an emphasis on the circular economy and various secrets and keys about cooking, beers and wines.

The gastronomic region of Menorca
The organization of this event will serve to support the candidacy of the island as Gastronomic Region 2022. This will serve as a way to promote local culture and products, as well as the work of the island's most renowned chefs.
Los leaders Carme ruscalleda y Raul Balam will open the festival. Its screening will include the presence of the documentary "Camí Lliure", which will give the green light to the start of the festival together with a short opening speech.
Both cooks will be the central axis of that first day of the seventh edition of Cooking Films, along with its gastronomic roots and the food heritage of the island.

The main dish of Cooking Films 2022 will be four sessions at night in several restaurants in the area that will have unique dinners designed exclusively for the event. The custro will be accompanied by projections focused on the island gastronomy.
The first session will be the author comedy called «The toast«, directed by Laurent Tirard. The screening can be enjoyed at the Mon Restaurant, this being one of the most exotic places in Ciutadella. There, the traditional Menorcan cuisine influenced by Arab, French and British gastronomy will be recovered.
The second course will be accompanied by the Danish production «an exquisite bite«, By the author Christopher Boe. The film will be screened at Es Tast de na Sílvia Restaurant, and will be accompanied by the best of the countryside and the sea of Menorca.
As a third party we will enjoy «Delicioso«, a culinary drama that the director Eric Besnard will be set in the French Revolution and will be screened in Cristine de Maó's kitchen. The dish that will accompany the film will focus on the products of the land.
Finally we have the movie Benito zambrano «Lemon bread with poppy seeds«. The film based on the popular book of the same name will put the finishing touch to the festival on Sunday, June 5, at the Biniarroca Restaurant, with a kitchen full of varieties that is not even painted to the gala.
Cooking Films, a film festival
The edition of the festival, which starts on June 2 in the morning, will be held at the prehistoric site of Torralba d'en Salort. It will be the first time that the space hosts a film festival.
The event will be accompanied by a wine tasting by the restaurateur Joan Canales. The projection of that day will be the documentary about the wine revolution «Basajaun«. The next day, the Ocimax cinema in Maó will screen «balance recipe«, in which he will talk about Ricard Camarena from the director's hands Oscar Bernacer.
