Althaia beers, a story of love and passion for the land
Althaia beers, was born in the Marina Baixa, in the Mediterranean. Its entire production of the entire process is in the town of Altea and it's the brewery most awarded in the Valencian Community. But he still wants to keep getting merits. For this reason, it has decided to open its new factory there in Partida El Planet de Altea.
It is said that Althaia is the ancient name of Altea and that it is a Greek word that means "I heal" o "I heal." In addition, the company is committed to creating sea, coast, beach and sun beers.
Likewise, the Althaia project is also a beautiful love story. When Mayte, its creator, came to Alicante, to continue her professional career in the world of wine, she met Jorge. One day tasting Jorge's beers, he confessed that his dream was always to live from what he liked the most, to do beer. Both, passionate about the elaboration, did not think twice.
The works in this space, with a modern and industrial look, They began in mid-2020 and despite the setbacks caused by Covid-19, they have ended within the expected period.
Its inauguration coincides with the celebration of VII anniversary of the brewery. And during all this time the brand has grown steadily and constantly betting on ethical and honest beers.
Why a new factory?
The new facilities are designed to multiply its production capacity. Since before the work of the company was limited to 6.000 liters per month, which prevented supplying the growing national and international demand. Now, instead, the production capacity becomes 14.000 liters per month, and they are even designed for possible later extensions.
Likewise, Althaia beers has wanted to innovate with the most advanced technology in the manufacture of craft beer. In other words, with a completely isobaric system, with state-of-the-art cold rooms, canners and bottlers.
And not only that, but they fully join the project of the sustainability. The factory is mainly powered by renewable energy, thanks in particular to the solar panels installed on the roof of the ship.
What does the new Althaia Beer factory offer?
The new brand building will offer guided tours with pairing for groups every day, both in Spanish and English. Of course, it will be necessary to make a prior appointment with a reservation.
In the same way, there will be a store and a tap room open to the public. In it you can taste the beers served directly from the factory while observing the production area.
The tap room does not require an appointment and has an outdoor terrace. In addition, all spaces are adapted to receive both boys and girls, as well as pets. And of course there are visitor accessories with reduced mobility.
The new factory will officially open its doors to the public on 30 July and the guided tours will begin two days later, on August 1. So if you want to be one of the first to visit it, you should start thinking about booking now.
