Siderit's sugar-free vermouth

siderite

El vermouth Siderit is the only one in the market elaborated without any sugar added. The micro-distillery of Cantabria produces it from grapes Pedro Ximénez, which is very sweet. It is macerated for two months in a hundred honey plants. These are flowers that produce nectar and honey, in this case in the Picos de Europa.

That is precisely what produces the sensation of sweetness. "We trick the palate by looking sweet, but in reality it is not," he explains. David Martinez, one of the two partners of Siderit, Great Products.

So is this Siderit

El vermouth Siderit, with an intense mahogany red color, it is aged in Spanish white oak barrels from Jerez. They also follow the tradition of the Italians to make it with grapes and not from a hydroalcoholic solution, like the Spanish.

Usually the vermouth it has 120 grams of sugar per liter. "But it didn't seem legal to us to have to add sugar," he says. Martinez. The result is that the balsamic notes of this vermouth without sugar provide a bitter touch.

This vermouth, of which 60.000 bottles are already sold per year, is the latest innovation from this distillery. It has the only artisan gin with lemon and also with stevia, a substance that also enhances the rest of the flavors.
