The split of the DO Ca Rioja with the new DO named Arabako Mahastiak – Viñedos de Álava' continues to cause discussions and trouble. Today the Regulatory Council has pronounced asking to stop the Transitory National Protection.

The separation of the Rioja Alavesa from the DOCa Rioja continues to advance. The procedures will arrive in Brussels in the coming weeks and a judicial process will begin between the two appellations of origin.
