Secret del Priorat 2019 by Familia Torres has entered 'The Enthusiast 100' list. A list published annually by the prestigious American magazine Wine Enthusiast with the best wines of the year.
The editors of the publication made their selection from 21.000 blind-tasted wines from 17 countries. All this in search of "compelling, delicious and widely available wines for purchase with excellent value for money". The second vintage of this Priorat wine is ranked 31st, with 92 points. This makes it the best classified of the 4 Catalan wines and the second of the 8 Spanish wines included in the list.
Secret del Priorat, the latest novelty from the Familia Torres winery in Priorat transmits the landscape and diversity of this extraordinary wine region. The wine is a blend made up mainly of the autochthonous varieties Garnacha and Cariñena. It comes from selected vineyards in the region that form a mosaic of typical vines planted on steep slopes and llicorella soils.

Secret of the Priorat, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, is, as a whole, a wine that is harmonious and respectful of local tradition and culture. Its name and label evoke the beauty and magic of Priorat, a place where nature incessantly reveals its secrets through small details such as the flowers of the old almond trees that grow next to the vines.
Wine Enthusiast critic Mike DeSimone highlights in his tasting notes the "dark garnet" color and "aromas of blackberry, raspberry and vanilla, the network of delicate tannins that support the flavors of pomegranate, raspberry, menthol and cocoa powder." ; and at the end, notes of candied orange peel and violet”.
