Through its Alma Prima Project -which we will know later-, he explained Marco Ferrao, Director of Strategic Marketing of the company, for ARAL magazine, they seek to “recover the cultivating traditional wheat in a sustainable way”. It is an exhaustive work, since “after analyzing 190 varieties of wheat we have selected only those of the highest quality, with a natural harvest and conservation of the grain that allows to preserve all its properties and achieve an inimitable pasta with the highest standards. quality".

The result is a product with properties that, in addition to providing an unbeatable flavor and texture, also contains 13 grams of protein per 100. If you want to try it, this organic pasta is now available through the firm Carrefour Circle of Quality in the form of macaroni, spaghetti and noodles.

A total commitment to sustainability

And since we are committed, we do it 100%, right? Therefore, it is not that it is only organic pasta, but the packaging also has its non-harmful function for the environment. And it is packaged with a the packaging compostable which has been made with paper and PLA -polylactic acid derived from recycling corn waste-.

The advantage of this system is that it can be recycled in "organic waste containers", which favors, in addition to the sustainability they show off, the circular economy that characterizes the firm. This model has already paid off, because in 2019 it achieved the declaration of Zero Discharge in all plants on the Iberian Peninsula -including Portugal- and "fulfilled its commitment by 2030 to reduce its carbon emissions between 15% and 20%".
