Marqués de Murrieta wins the “Best Of 2023”

The "Best of 2023" award from the World Network of Large Wine Capitals has been awarded to Marqués de Murrieta. This recognizes the highest quality, excellence and good practices in the business field.

Made up of specialists from various fields, the jury has evaluated the best Spanish projects. All this during 3 phases of prior evaluation and they have decided to highlight the pioneering Rioja winery in this way. The jury acknowledges promoting innovation and excellence in the world of tourism.

 

Marqués de Murrieta, who meets 170 years of history This 2022, it passes thanks to this designation to the international phase. This will be held on November 3 in Argentina, and in which the chosen wineries from each wine region of the world will participate. Marqués de Murrieta will compete with wineries from countries such as France, Italy, the United States, Australia, Portugal, among others.

During the ceremony, the jury highlighted Marqués de Murrieta as "one of the most idyllic tourist spaces in the world".  For his part, José Carlos García, Director of Marketing and Communication of the winery, collected the award on behalf of the entire team. García stressed that this recognition "indicates that we were on the right path and encourages us to continue with the same enthusiasm and dedication alongside a family that fights daily for this project."

A year of awards for Marqués de Murrieta

This is not the only award that Marqués de Murrieta get this year. Recently, one of the wines from the winery, Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva, It was named the best wine in the world by one of the most respected media in the sector, Wine Spectator, being the first time that a Spanish wine has reached this milestone.

Also the human team and specifically its technical director, María Vargas was also chosen "Best Winemaker in the World" at the Wine & Spirits Awards. For its part, the management of the winery has also been recognized this year for its commitment to excellence and internationalization. Vicente Dalmau Cebrián-Sagarriga, president of the winery, received the Cross of the "Order of the Two of May", the highest distinction granted by the Community of Madrid.

But one of the most notorious prizes came this summer, when Marqués de Murrieta got the highest score in Parker points. A recognition granted by The Wine Advocate guide, owned by the Michelin Guide. This fact has placed it in the top 10 world wineries with the highest number of 100 Parker points.
