The Montagud Editores Awards are born.

The Barcelona publishing house Montagud Publishers, has created the I Montagud Editores Awards. This editorial is one of the references of haute cuisine worldwide. The gala will consist of thirteen categories, where the best professionals in the gastronomic sector will be awarded. The ceremony will be held on January 23, in the Spanish capital, Madrid. The event will bring together the best chefs and professionals in Spanish gastronomy.

What is the purpose of these awards?

The editorial has created these new awards, with the aim of recognizing and rewarding the work carried out by the different agents that make up the world of gastronomy. It is also a way to unite the Spanish gastronomy community and all its professionals, who make the gastronomy of this country excellent and internationally recognized.

In addition, these awards will serve as a stimulus for all professionals. It will be an incentive for them to make an extra effort to improve their profession and get these highly prestigious awards, since they will surely put the winners in the spotlight.

What categories will the I Montagud Editores Awards have?

The editorial has created thirteen different categories for this first edition, they are the following:

  • A lifetime in gastronomy.
  • Young Chef of the Year
  • To sustainability.
  • To innovation.
  • Best sommelier.
  • Best room manager.
  • Best waiter.
  • Best restaurant mixologist.
  • To the best treatment of meat.
  • To the best treatment of fish.
  • Best PastryChef (chef dedicated to pastry)

The annual party will begin around nine at night, it will be at the Madrid hotel “Hotel Iberostar Las Letras Gran Vía”. The prize will be in the shape of the iconic almond blossom, which was used in 1906 (the year the publishing house was founded) to pave the streets of the city's expansion.
