The B+ Animal Welfare Commitment seal is launched

The main interprofessionals in the meat and livestock industry have launched the B+ Animal Welfare Commitment seal. With this seal, a unique image is intended so that all certified meats and meat products are recognized by the consumer.

The six meat interprofessionals in Spain have wanted to join forces to communicate the certification of their products. Thus This new seal is an image that guarantees that these products have the certification of one of the six interprofessionals. In other words, it is not a new certification but a unique image that guarantees that they have the certification of each sector.

So Interporc, Asici, Avianza, Interovic Provacuno and Intercun will provide the consumer with the guarantee of their certificates. This stamp is not mandatory to use but, without a doubt, it will facilitate understanding in a time when a multitude of stamps are born and the consumer is confused.

B+ Animal Welfare Commitment, certification guarantee

With this seal, it intends to increase trust with the consumer. And in this way guarantee that these products covered by the seal are made through ethical production systems based on the support of production science and animal welfare.

The certifications that make it possible to obtain the B+ Animal Welfare Commitment seal are certified by independent entities and with the criteria of ENAC.

Thus we will see white layer pork, Iberian meat products, rabbit meat, sheep meat and beef under the image of the seal. This process is the culmination of the certifications of each one of the sectors. All these certifications meet the principles of Animal Welfare. These criteria are set by the World Organization for Animal Health (OMSA).

The image of the seal is also the fruit of the work of farmers and the meat industry to take a further step in transparency.
