On December 13, the day of Saint Lucia, Gelida organizes a party in her honor. The festival begins when, still at night, the fires are lit to cook the traditional Escudella de Santa Lucía, which is eaten at noon in a popular lunch. There is also a Christmas market and an exhibition of nativity scenes.
