“Vi per vida” the non-profit association that aims to support metastasis research and raise awareness among citizens. All in favor of cancer research. They met on February 11, 2019 with AT Roca, a winery in Sant Sadurní d´Anoia that belongs to the DO Penedès and the DO Clàssic Penedès. The objective of the meeting was to take stock of “Cop de Cor”, a project that was born in September 2015.
A project that unites landscape, territory and people
"Cop de Cor" is a charity wine created by AT Roca four years ago with the aim of fully allocating the profits to the "Vi per Vida" foundation for cancer research. In the words of the founders of the project. “AT Roca's philosophy unites the landscape, the territory and also the people. From here came the idea of making a wine that can reach people through different ways ”.
Xavier Ayala, promoter of the “Vi per Vida” association, recognizes that “the friendship that unites the family that forms AT Roca with“ Vi per Vida ”made us come together to make a common project baptized with the name of Cop de Cor ". It also recognizes that the two entities are very satisfied with the results obtained.
With this project, a total of 1.385 bottles have been sold. A profit of € 3000 has been achieved. The donation of the 2018 profits will be made next March to "l'Institut de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona (IRB Barcelona)".
Cop de Cor, is a 100% Macabeu wine from the Novelles vineyard. An old vine planted in 1982. It is a unique wine from the DO Penedès with a straw color that hides reflections of new gold and abundant tears. On the nose it is fresh and fruity, with green apple and apricot on a spicy and toasted background. In the mouth it shows nerve, but it is pleasant highlighting a good acidity. A voluminous but well structured wine.
Next solidarity tasting of "Vi per Vida"
The new edition of the tasting organized by “Vi per Vida” will be held on April 7 at 12 noon at the “Les Obagues” eco-center, located in Juneda (Lleida). A total of 100 attendees will be able to participate in the solidarity tasting and thus contribute to the collection of funds that will go to IRB Barcelona.
