Spanish chorizo ​​continues to meet goals.

In 2022, the Spanish Chorizo ​​Consortium reached a new goal. It managed to reach sixty-one thousand kilograms labeled in Spain, 18% more than in 2021. In addition, sales of chorizo ​​with the association's quality seal have reached approximately three million in the fifty-five countries in which That operates.

The United Kingdom is the country that consumes the most Spanish chorizo, more than one and a half million kilos were exported to the British Isles during 2022, representing 16% of the total export market. The foreign sales podium is completed by France with five hundred thousand kilograms and Germany with one hundred and forty thousand kilograms. In addition, during this last year, the Spanish market has reached new countries such as Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Moldova and Serbia.

The most popular format in which chorizo ​​is distributed is string, with 89%. The rest is sold in candle format (11%) and sliced ​​(6%)

On the other hand, cured sausages have consolidated in the Spanish meat sector, reaching seventy-nine million kilograms sold abroad, 9% more than in 2021. France is the country to which it is most exported, exceeding the twenty-six million kilos traded. The podium is completed by the United Kingdom and Belgium.
