In general the characteristics of these Ale beers is that they have something more bodied and darker. They are also more aromatic than those of the group of Warehouse or low fermentation.

So are Ale beers

The name of Pale Ale indicates that, despite being beers darker than the Warehouse, these are not like many of the group of Ale. Its characteristic color is a pale bronze. That was precisely what the brewers of the time were looking for, a lighter beer.

All of this was achieved with the use of a type of malt called Pale. It could be produced when the roasting temperatures were better controlled in the malting plants.

This beer became popular in the seventeenth century in the middle England and many people associate it with the typical English style of beers. It is a beer with an alcoholic strength of around 5º and more aromatic. We must say that there is many styles of Pale Ale. We can highlight the brown ale, the bitter, the amber ale, the red ale, the stout, the porter, the old ale, etc.

All the Indian Pale Ale or IPA beers were created to be able to supply beer to the English troops displaced in the India during their colonization. During the transport the beer was spoiled and they created this beer with much more hops and alcoholic degree so that it could withstand the long journeys. Thus a more bitter and alcoholic beer was obtained.

Just forty years ago in United States the one known as American pale ale. It's a beer similar to IPA but using the contribution of hops in a different way. First of all, the hops used are American, much more aromatic. Also their contribution at the time of preparation is different. All this gives the beer more floral, fresh and citrus touches to the beer.

We suggest you try these beer styles and see for yourself the differences between them. Enjoy them. Health!
