The Skrei season begins.

Skrei cod is a nomadic fish that migrates more than a thousand kilometers along the Norwegian coasts, feeding on shellfish and herring. The Norwegian Skrei is caught when it begins its migration in the barents sea in norway, characterized by its icy and crystalline waters, to the areas of the north coast of Norway, where it is born. The Skrei stands out for being a fish with great muscles. The Skrei season has started, since the first Skreis from Norway are arriving in our country.

Skrei in Spain

The start of this season usually coincides with Valentine's Day, which is why the Skrei is also known as "the love fish". The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) has organized a show cooking, with chefs Cato Wara and Sergio Fernández.

They attended the event; the Norwegian ambassador to Spain Nils Haugstveit, the director of the NSC in Spain, Björn Erik Stabell and the creative manager of Tactics Europe, Fernando Camino. In the show cooking, attendees were able to taste the Norwegian Skrei with different preparations.

According to the company Stabell, Spain is already the first world market for Skrei from Norway, after several years causing a furore in our country. This gourmet, wild and seasonal cod has been one of the country's main exports since the time of the Vikings. It is also one of the main foods on the Norwegian coast for more than ten thousand years.
